ERSTE-SPARINVEST and SUSTAINABILITY

“Sustainability” at ERSTE-SPARINVEST is not only a certain term or word without any implications, but a philosophy which already has a long tradition in managing specific assets. We were early movers in anticipating the growing needs and intentions of our investors to emphasize increasingly environmental and ethical-social aspects regarding their investment decisions. ERSTE-SPARINVEST used these changes as an opportunity to develop the largest variety of ethical-sustainable funds in Austria over the last decade. With assets under management of approx. 500 million Euros, ERSTE-SPARINVEST is the most distinguished provider of ethical-sustainable investment funds in Austria and the CEE-region and can be considered a significant player all over Europe.

The long term track record guarantees high quality

Our team of experts developed the evaluation basis for our “sustainable” product family. As one of the pioneers and market leaders for this specific asset products, ERSTE-SPARINVEST provides a large variety of funds for all asset classes and tar-get audiences, that is both private and institutional investors. Numerous awards un-derline our expertise and reputation in this growing asset category.

Sustainability is part of our identity

Therefore, we have implemented in our internal corporate structure a professional and modern environmental management. Moreover, we undertake strong efforts to meet and surpass the high social standards with our internal and external stakeholders.

Cooperation with the WWF

ERSTE-SPARINVEST (ESPA) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Austria estab-lished an internationally well perceived cooperation already back in 2006. Since then, two stock funds, i.e. the ESPA WWF STOCK UMWELT and the ESPA WWF STOCK CLI-MATE CHANGE, have been bearing the name of WWF. This organization guarantees, as one of the largest and most significant protectors of the environment, together with the established environmental investment board, that both investment products stick to strict ecological and social criterias with respect to their stock selections.

ERSTE-SPARINVEST waives part of the earned management fees to support water and cli-mate related protection programs on a continuous basis. Since the start of this cooperation, a significant amount of means could be raised and handed over for forward-looking projects in the field of water and climate protection. Hence, this cooperation on the interface between ecology and economy proves that “sustainability” and “finance” must not be opponents.
